Whether through commercials or from my company seniors Kenji Akabane and Hiroaki Miura, the greatest impression I had of Ikémen Sengoku was how much I heard about it. It's a game that many of my industry seniors have participated in.

I knew a little bit about Hisahide Matsunaga already, and my very first impression is that he's got a bad boy image. So when I saw his character design I expected to see that bad boy image come to life.
Let me talk about his charm point. I definitely think it's his bad boy side. If you want to see how it develops, I'd be happy if you play the game to find out.

I felt that Hisahide has a tendency to put on an act, so I focused on portraying his truest feelings as well as the impression he wanted to give to others.

At first I wondered what it meant to be both alluring and twisted, but I discovered from discussing with the director and scenario writer that Hisahide uses his charm on women to get what he wants, so I was able to finally visualize him.
Things in common...? Maybe you could tell me? I don't think I have sensuality, but I do want to be alluring! I'm already 26 (at the time of this interview), but I still feel like a high school student except with a little more hair on my head! (laughs)

Let's see, I guess I'd want to time travel back to the Edo period and make penicillin.I remember watching reruns of shows about time travel...

I am very glad I could work on the Ikémen Sengoku project, and it was really enjoyable to act as Hisahide because he's the type of character I don't normally voice. It was interesting figuring out how best to perform through trial and error.
